Banner Imaging Associates
| Banner Imaging Associates is recruiting a
full-time radiologist due to significant growth in volume. This group
practices at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, a
659-bed facility that is the flagship hospital of Banner Health. The
Body Imaging section currently includes six Body Imagers and two
Neuroradiologists. BIA is looking for a well-trained radiologist with expertise in MRI, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Body Imaging, or Neuroradiology to be part of a rapidly growing practice in a fast-paced, collegial work environment. The ideal candidate would have a broad skill set including proficiency in MRI (MSK, Body and Neuro), vascular ultrasound and the ability to perform ultrasound-guided procedures. The group values a great working relationship with referring physicians and is looking for a candidate who works well with others and has very good interpersonal communication skills. The Radiology department is well-equipped with two 64 slice CT scanners with CT fluoro in the department, one of which is used for procedures. There are two GE 1.5 Tesla MR magnets. There are four angio suites: a Philips biplane room with 3-D rotational angiography, 2 Toshiba rooms, and fourth room with an angio table and C-arm for less involved procedures. The ultrasound department has three Acuson Sequoias, three ATLs and three GE Logic 9 machines. The vascular lab is excellent and busy with a wide range of cases such as pre-and post-liver transplant duplex, renal transplant duplex, AV fistula evaluations, and many types of arterial duplex evaluation. Many vascular cases are referred to this department because of their complexity. The department is completely filmless utilizing a Fuji PACS. Powerscribe voice recognition software is being installed in early 2007. The department also is fortunate to have many excellent technologists and support staff. This department performs 202,000 exams per year. This volume is quite manageable because the group has an excellent working relationship with the hospital administration and thus appropriate support is in place. The workflow is made more efficient by Radiology Reading Room Assistants who facilitate our day both during the week and on the weekends. The department also has outside teleradiology coverage from 9 p.m.-8 a.m. on weekdays and from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. on weekends. The schedule includes variable hours such as 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.-9 p.m. with each radiologist averaging one working weekend per month (8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday). This full-time position includes a highly competitive salary and full benefits, including a generous vacation package. Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center, academic center, and a quaternary care center. This hospital has very active Hepatology/Liver Transplant, Renal/Pancreas Transplant and Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology programs.
